Of all the things that are requested by staff and campers this has to be one of the all-time highest. We have received messages from all over the county and the world from folks who miss the taste and can find nothing like it at home.
Frankly, we haven’t found anything like it in the area either!
Each week the Killoqua kitchen produces enough home- made granola and fruit muffins to feed 200 plus hungry people for Saturday breakfast. Now you can too. Although, singing is at your own discretion.
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 Tbls honey
2 1/4 cups rolled oats
Heat oven to 300 degrees. Combine all ingredients except the rolled oats. Cook in saucepan over low heat until butter melts. Mix until well blended. Remove from heat. Add oats and mix well. Spread in sheet pan, place in oven for 15 – 18 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally (very important!). Allow the granola to cool. Store in a tightly sealed container.
